A number of people came over to talk about the boats and possible fleets in Corpus Christi, Austin and elsewhere--the curiosity and positive energy were great to see! We also had a few people try the boat out and come back grinning.

Fortunately for anyone who lives in or visits Newport, R.I., this week, a fleet of nine boats will gather in the City by the Sea to contest the 12 Metre North American Championship hosted by Ida Lewis Yacht Club from September 23-25, 2016.

A slow-moving tropical storm dampened day two of the J/24 World Championship in Wakayama Japan. A slow-moving tropical storm dampened day two of the J/24 World Championship in Wakayama Japan. The 41 teams representing Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Korea, Peru, Singapore and the USA were kept ashore as heavy rains and winds were blanketing the area on Tuesday.

With a tropical storm heading toward the area, 41 teams representing Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Korea, Peru, Singapore and the USA kicked off the Championship in winds of four - six knots over two races.
