The inaugural Singapore Yacht Show, 8 to 10 April 2011, hopes to position itself as the region's most luxurious and exclusive event, featuring some of the world’s biggest and most desirable power and sailing superyachts, show-cased in a prestigious exhibition and marina environment at the ONE°15 Marina Club.
The venue is ideally positioned on Sentosa Cove. Singapore Yacht Show
The Singapore Yacht Show is a unique yachting event, serving to provide a first class networking platform for top yachting industry professionals and ultra High Net Worth Individuals.
An extensive programme of special events and social activities will provide further exclusive networking opportunities to develop business contacts. These will include a conference, cocktail receptions, a gala dinner, and many other unique experiences.
The Informa Yacht Group who is running the show is also behind the world-leading Monaco Yacht Show, the Superyacht Cup Regattas and the Abu Dhabi Yacht Show.
The inaugural show next spring promises to bring together an international visitor audience of Asia’s ultra high net worth individuals and all the major players of the region’s luxury yachting industry. The stage is thus set for local and regional exhibitors, as well as some key international players keen to find a new market in the newly-affluent East, to showcase their latest products to a burgeoning Asian market, hungry for top-end luxury products. Additionally, the event will create the ideal environment for industry leaders to network and share best practices with new partners from around Asia.
With active support from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and the Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau (SECB), the new Yacht Show will undoubtedly reinforce Singapore’s position as a prime destination for dynamic and influential business exchange.
On why Informa Yacht Group is bringing the show to Singapore, Managing Director, Andy Treadwell, said, 'We are convinced that the market for superyachts in Asia could develop considerably over the next few years, and we want to play our part in driving that development. Singapore is a highly strategic and influential business centre in the very heart of Asia, providing a perfect venue for the show and a first-class hub for the future of the large-yacht industry in this region. The venue, ONE°15 Marina Club in Sentosa Cove has the ideal setting to host this ultra luxurious event.'
Earlier this autumn, Treadwell and SUTL Chairman Arthur Tay signed an agreement to create first yacht show in Asia. There have been many agreements to put in place and many stakeholders to bring on board since then, in order to ensure delivery of an unforgettable inaugural Singapore Yacht Show, something Tay is confident about.
He said, 'By playing host to such a world-class event involving the global industry’s key decision-makers, the Singapore Yacht Show will create history on many levels for Singapore and will be a major boost to the local and regional boating and lifestyle industries. We are delighted to have STB’s and SECB’s support for the event, which will help realise Singapore’s ambitions and potential to become the region’s leading focal point for Superyacht owners around the world. I certainly look forward to welcoming the large-yacht industry and the region’s potential buyers to the ONE°15 Marina Club in April!'
Superyachts are sea-going dream machines of the discerning rich and famous. To be included in this category, the yachts have to be luxurious and over 25 metres in length. The Singapore Yacht Show will bring together shipyards, brokers, designers, naval architects and anyone with an interest in the Superyacht world and will serve as a showcase for the luxury travel and top-end luxury product sectors.
The invitation-only event will also play host to some exclusive entertainment with a gala dinner, various cocktail receptions, a golf tournament and many other social events.
