Those who frequent the Auckland waterfront, will have noticed the steady growth of the Auckland 18ft skiff fleet over the past couple of years.

The Auckland Championships are next weekend.

We caught these images from Sunday's practice sessions.

Two singlehanded sailors have been added to the Kiwi Olympic team in the two Mens singlehanded classes - the Finn and Laser. Appeals are being lodged today by two sailors in the Womens events.

However, she moved up the leader board to lie 28th overall in the 40 strong fleet and placed ninth in the first race of Day 2.

The championship was run over two weekends and finished up on Sunday 24th January. Racing was abandoned on Saturday 23rd due to a complete lack of breeze on the Waitemata Harbour.
