After a meeting of the ISA Board of Directors where the decision was made to re-open the nomination process, the ISA is seeking requests for an invitation to compete in the ISAF Women’s Match Racing World Championships 2014 which will be held for the first time in Ireland this year in the waters of Cork Harbour in June.
Up to 16 skippers will be invited, 14 will be invited using the ISAF Women’s Match Racing Ranking list plus the defending World Champion, Tamara Echegoyan (ESP) who is also the Olympic Gold Medallist. Ireland, as host nation, receives a wildcard invitation not connected with the ranking list. This is nominated by the ISA, and agreed with ISAF, and will be followed by an invitation from the organising authority Royal Cork Yacht Club.
