ISAF Sailing World Cup Hyeres - Seaton and McGovern second overall

by ISA on 25 Apr 2014
Manu Dyen and Stéphane Christidis, Ryan Seaton and Matthew Mcgovern – 49er - 2014 ISAF Sailing World Cup Hyeres, Day 4 Yvan Zedda http://www.zedda.com.
At the ISAF Sailing World Cup Hyeres, Irish Olympic sailors Ryan Seaton and Matt McGovern from Providence Team IRL are lying second overall after four days of racing.

The duo, who sail in the 49er class, only have one more day of fleet racing tomorrow before the top 10 compete in the medal race on Saturday.

With the Rio Olympic qualifier in Spain this September, performance at this World Cup regatta will be a good indicator of the pair’s ranking among the best sailors in the world.

Commenting on the team’s performance James O’Callaghan ISA Performance Director stated ‘The 49er boys have been sailing well this week. They had a tougher day today but still managed to hold on their second place. They should make the medal race on Saturday and if they are in that they are in with a chance for a medal. We are delighted that Andrea and Saskia have also had a good week, it is a great achievement for them to make the Gold fleet. We're all looking forward to two more good days sailing.’
