We're happy to reveal that in 2013, through the ISA's five participation initiatives, ISA Clubs and Training Centres introduced a total of 10,879 people to the sport or raised awareness of the sport through onshore activities.
We hope that, working together with ISA clubs and centres next year, we can continue to grow the success of these initiatives and introduce even more people to sailing and convert them into lifelong members.
For more information on how to get involved in any of these initiatives please contact your
Regional Development Officer.
Women on the Water (WOWI): 1,409 participants at 18 events.
Disabled Sailing: 285 sailors throughout the year. 15 sailors competed in the Nationals and eight clubs running programmes, three of which are almost all year round.
The Gathering Cruise: 58 boats entered and 520 people partaking over all with crew, support crew, family visitors etc.
Sail Spree: 1,957 people took part in on the water activities with a further 6,190 attending shore based activities.
Cara na Mara: 518 children completed courses.
Schools Programme: This has not been initiated yet and is scheduled as a new initiative for spring
