Day 2 - IKA Kiteboarding World Championships Sardinia Alexandru Baranescu
Overcast skies and scattered showers filled the majority of day two of the 2016 Sardinia Kiteboarding Grand Slam before action kicks in on Wednesday.
The ten O’clock skippers meeting signaled a slow start for the day with riders put on hold just in case the breeze filled in late. By four O’clock the clouds parted and made way for a lovely blue afternoon. The wind also reared it’s head late with some riders taking to the water on their biggest kites, alas it was never enough to be considered contestable.
An hour before dark the competition was called off for the day, some riders choosing to use that as a chance to tune their light wind gear, whilst others decided to save their energy for the next few days.
With a great forecast coming up it looks highly likely that all the disciplines should be completed over the next three days. Stay up to date with the live heat updates and daily report!
All heats will have live scoring available online once competition starts.
