General Tapioca storming ahead - Half Ton Classics Cup Bert Janssen
Half Ton Classics Cup 2011 is organised by Royal Corinthian Yacht Club (RCYC), Cowes in cooperation with the Half Ton Class Europe. The event is to take place from Sunday 21 August to Friday 26 August 2011.

Half Ton Class Europe and RCYC are pleased to announce that local company South Boats have agreed to be the title sponsor of the fifth Half Ton Classics Cup.

South Boats build definitive work boats for the offshore wind industry. South Boats is based at Cowes on the Isle of Wight, with production and operations taking place over four sites and is one of the largest boat builders in the UK with over 150 skilled workers and a turnover in excess of £20m.

After four consecutive events supported by Ecover, who decided to change their way of support, the halftonners maintain their course towards an environmentally better future.

The regatta is open to all former IOR half ton racing yachts, and promises to be the largest event ever in the history of the halftonners.

Entry forms and more information concerning the regatta is to be found on the Half Ton Class Europe website or on the RCYC website.

The fifth Half Ton Classics Cup is also supported by BWT, Spinlock, Wight Vodka, Quantum Sails, Ecover and Euro Car Parks.

Local supporters include Goddards Brewery, Red Funnel / Isle of Wight Ferries, Shepards Wharf Marina and Kingston Marine Half Ton Class Europe website
