Sail #2281 on starboard tack at race committee end looking good for first over competing in 2011 Lake Yachting Racing Association 127th Annual Regatta hosted by Port Credit Yacht Club John Crawley
Great wind and sun arrived for the 127th 2011 LYRA at Port Credit Yacht Club in Ontario, Canada. Wonderful conditions allowed for as many as nine races on the IRC course which was also their Canadian Championships featuring 33 boats. This event also held the Centennial, Founders, and Freeman Cup races on July 25-28, along with the course racing on July 29-31st.
Want an event that will include just about anything? Try the 127th annual LYRA event - course racing, PHRF, One-Design, IRC, and long distance? The Lake Yacht Racing Association annual regatta has it all. Over 75 boats participated in this annual regatta which moves around the Great Lakes every year. It allows for both Canadian and American boats to race one another and provides great comraderie among the sailors, especially this year with over 25 yacht clubs in attendance.
Friday provided great winds, waves, a storm, and then no wind. Saturday arrived with near perfect wind conditions from 8-13 knots, and Sunday had all the marbles!
