GMI welcomes new director to Board

Jean-Michel Gaigné MIAA
Global Marina Institute (GMI) is pleased to welcome Jean-Michel Gaigné to the GMI Board. He will be the representative of the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) Marinas Group and will provide a vital link between the two groups.

Jean-Michel, has spent all his business life in the yachting sphere. He successfully organized the sailing event Tour de France à la Voile, was communications manager of a worldwide nautical company, developed a new yacht harbour in France and is currently the managing director of a 1000+ berth marina in Brittany (France).

Jean-Michel is a long standing and active member of the ICOMIA Marinas Group, Secretary General of the Breton marina association and involved in European marina networking (TransEurope Marinas). He also acts as a marketing and development consultant for marinas and waterside activities.

The GMI Board is Chaired by Mick Bettesworth CMM of Marine Development Limited and has representation from the British Marine Federation (BMF), the Marina Industries Association of Australia (MIAA) and Certified Marina Managers (CMMs) from UK, Europe and Australia.

The Global Marina Institute Ltd (GMI) was formed in 2011 as a partnership between British Marine Federation and Marina Industries Association of Australia. It delivers global marina training and certification with the aim of maintaining and increasing standards in marinas across the world. GMI is working to maintain existing certifications and to develop new certification pathways and training courses to meet the needs of both existing marinas and marinas developing around the World.
