GME has launched two great Summer Bonus Packs for sale in the lead-up to Christmas which a sure to be on many a boat owner’s wish list.

During November and December, GME will package a BONUS LED Lenser Dive Torch (D14), valued at RRP $99 with the highly popular white GX600A VHF radio, and a BONUS Trafalgar Fishing First Aid Kit with the white GX300 27MHz radio.

GME’s GX600A is one of the most popular VHF marine radios available in Australia today. Waterproof to IP67, and featuring tri-watch programmable scanning, the GX600A is a compact, reliable feature on thousands of Australian vessels.

In 30 years almost 30,000 lives have been saved worldwide because of the global system of distress beacon signalling. Having activated an Australian made GME 406 EPIRB and listened to the throb of an Australian Navy Seahawk as it approached in the darkness towards our stricken boat in huge seas in the 1998 Sydney Hobart race, this writer is very favourably inclined towards GME EPIRBS and these days even more so with GME producing EPIRBS with GPS.

Did you know it was an Australian GME PLB that raised Rambler alarm?
Tragedy, was however prevented in the 2011 race by an Australian made GME PLB The US-registered maxi, Rambler 100, with a crew of 21, had just passed the Fastnet Rock at around 6.30pm on August 15th when disaster struck. In relatively calm but foggy conditions, Rambler’s keel snapped, causing it to capsize within 15 seconds, throwing the entire crew overboard. Did you know that tragedy, was however prevented in the 2011 race by an Australian made GME PLB?
