This regatta has be resurrected after many years of the class being in the doldrums with upto 10 foiling moths sailing including competitors from Australia. The New Zealand Moth association has also organised a coaching clinic for the week prior to the event with Rohan Veal coming from Melbourne to help the class out.
These are spectacular boats to watch and with the courses close to the land will make for great viewing.
Also on the Friday at 4pm the Moths will hold an informal sprint series 50 metres from the shore, and this involves semi finals and a final race off. This special sprint course is only five minutes in length and provides great spectator viewing.
