The annual Bridge to Bridge Water Ski Classic will take place on a large section of the Hawkesbury River this weekend (23/24 November 2013). Roads and Maritime Services has granted event organisers, NSW Water Ski Federation, an exclusive use aquatic licence to hold the event from 8am to 3pm on both days.
On Saturday, the river from Sackville Ski Gardens to Windsor Bridge will be off limits during these times to boaters who are not part of the event.
On Sunday the special event area will extend on the river from Dangar Island to Windsor Bridge.
There will be a transit zone from Brooklyn and Berowra to Mooney Mooney with RMS (Maritime) control vessels able to authorise local traffic to enter the event area when it is considered safe.
When skippers are given permission to travel navigate through the transit zone, they must travel at no more than four knots without producing wash.
Skippers must follow all directions of Roads and Maritime Boating Safety and NSW Police officers.
