Evolution Sails dominated the Western Australian Winter Offshore calendar, with David Walling and Vern Williamson’s Farr 40 IRC, the Next Factor winning the coveted Valmadre Winter Series on IRC.

This backed up a totally dominating 2009/10 for the Next Factor which saw the boat go back-to back in winning the prestigious Siska Trophy and Geographe Bay Race week.

Geraldton Ocean Classic
The 221 nautical mile Automasters – Redink Homes Fremantle To Geraldton Ocean Race saw an extraor-dinary performance from the Bakewell White 37 General Lee and her crew. The General took line honors in a race record time for a con-ventionally ballasted boat of 18h18m33s, winning both handicap system results ( IRC and YAH), and clocking a fastest speed of 29.3 knots during the early hours of Saturday morning!

Cape Vlamingh Race
The 39 Mile Cape Vlamingh Race saw the debut of Laurie Flynne’s new Archambault 40 RC Aardvark. Despite very little dial in time prior to the race, Laurie and his seasoned crew took out IRC and YAH for this race, a clear signal that this all-new Evolution powered rocket is a serious contender for the 2010/2011 season!

Geraldton Return Ocean Race
Tony Mitchell’s Hugh Wel-bourne / Paul Eldrid opti-mized Farr 47 SLED made a comprehensive dominance on the return race from Gerald-ton in very testing conditions. In his very well prepared boat, complete with new inventory of Evolution Sails SLED was dominant in the tough part of the race where strong S-SE winds up to 37 knots battered the fleet.

SLED won Line Honours, IRC and YAH Handicaps and in the process used every new jib on the boat, and the Off-hore mainsail with 2 reefs. A pleased Tony exclaimed 'it’s a credit to the boys at Evolution—we didn’t sustain any sail damage in these extreme conditions'
