Platu 25 Central European Alp-Cup Act 3 in Brunnen, Switzerland Tobias Stoerkle
The seventh Central European Alp-Cup Edition (CEAC), the Platu 25 Circuit that takes place in the European Alpine Lakes, is getting thrilling with the next appointment in Brunnen, in Urnersee, one of the four branches of the Luzern lake in Switzerland where the third Act will be competed from the 30th of August to the first of September.
Over Fifteen crews are expected from Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France and Italy. Just two Acts are left and the next one could be crucial for leading boats. At the moment, the Swiss crew 'Superbüsi' is dominating the general ranking list. The second place is for 'Ursa Minor' helmed by Tom Studer and owned by Andreas Karalis - a Greek match race expert recently moved to Switzerland - with the talented Swiss Markus Sigrist at main and tactic and Luca Gerig at bow. The third step is for the 2012 Alp-Cup title defender, the German 'B52 Conquest', helmed by Walter Marlon and owned by Felix Dorn. The German 'Mahagoni' keeps a good fourth position in the general ranking list, followed by the Austrian 'Damaris' helmed by Guenther Prummer.
The Swiss crew 'Superbüsi' leaded by Mathias Bermejo, carried on leading: after conquering the first place in Langenargen, on Constance Lake, Germany. during the CEAC first Act (9-11 May), also in Austria during the second Act that took place in St. Lorenz, on the lake of Mondsee just two weeks before (25-26 May), 'Superbüsi' showed all its competitiveness and experience, collecting very brilliant results in all the races scheduled. So it will be tough to try overtaking the Swiss 'Superbüsi' for the Bermejo's adversaries. Don't forget that Mathias Bermejo won the 2011 Alp-Cup and conquered the second step in 2012 edition.
As Markus Sigrist remarked: 'Only 10 more days until the Alp-Cup in Brunnen. Like every year we provide a spectator boat for all people interested in sailing. There will be also, as previous years, After-Sailing- refreshments, on Saturday evening a Sailor-Party and delicious food too. This year the first time ONYX-Yachts and Esse 850 will also take part on the Act 3 in Brunnen. It will be a challenge for The Race-Committee and the Kitchen-Crew. Also, for the first time we are expecting one or two French crews from lake Aix-les-Bains. CEAC is still growing. We hope to see you soon in Brunnen!'
After Brunnen, the fourth and last Act will be taken in Mandello del Lario, Lago di Como, North Italy (7th-8th September) for the very last and decisive contest.
All over these seven years, thanks to the Central European Alp Cup, the e Alpine area became a nerve centre for the Platu 25 International Platu 25 class. The CEAC indeed is gathering crews from four different nationalities. The central and strategic position of this area carries on assuring a big participation of Platu 25 crews.
