Etchells World Championship 2011 day 2 and a new leader

San Diego's Vince Brun USA 1227, now tops the leaderboard at the second day of racing at the Etchells World Championship 2011 after he grabbed a second and a fourth.

In race three today US sailor Bruce Golison led Kiwi Andrew Wills into the top mark with Brun just astern. Golison and Wills faded and Australian Michael Hiatt, best know as the owner skipper of a series of serious offshore keel boats all called Living Doll swept into the lead to take the gun from Brun , Don Jesberg, Keith Whittenmore and Chris Busch. Australian Noel Nitro Drennan finished eigthth. Bill Hardesty USA979, yesterday's leader finished back in 19th place.

In the fourth race Golison again was first at the top mark with Brun third but another San Deigo hero, Dennis Conner took the lead and held on for a win ahead of Drennan, with Craig Healy USA945 third . Brun was fourth. Yesterdays leader Bill Hardesty (USA), finished seventh and slid into second place overall.

Racing continues until June 11.
