Elan on display at Boat Show

'Elan 37 room enough for everyone'    Elan
Dreaming of soaking up blissful days of cruising - or beating your mates to the bar after a race around the cans?

Well, its Boat Show time in Sydney and time to think about that new boat. The Sydney International Boat Show begins this Thursday, 28th July, from 10am till 8pm daily through to Tuesday August 2nd.

Australian importer of Elan yachts, Gael Moldán, says ‘the stunning new Elan release, the Impression 384, is an absolute ‘must see’ for any serious boat buyer looking for a bluewater cruiser.’

Navsail will showcase the new 2005 release, Impression 384, with the exciting performer, the Elan 37, along with the popular baby of the range, the Elan 31.

‘The Impression 384 is definitely in a class of her own, there’s nothing else here in Australia in that design style for that price. The distinct style, layout and features of the Impression 384 are what you would expect to find in a far more expensive yacht.

This beautiful bluewater cruiser will have great appeal. She’s so spacious for 38-footer, she’s actually bigger than the Elan 40 internally,’ Moldán adds.

There’s a choice of four interior layouts, with a well equipped Owner's Version 3, which features two double cabs, separate shower cubicle and a huge amount storage room; all on display at the Show.

The Elan 37 is a truly exceptional cruiser/racer design by Rob Humphreys. The boat has great lines and one of the best cockpit layouts. It is the most performance oriented in Elan’s Performance Cruiser range.

This spirited performer continues to out-class her opposition with more impressive ocean race wins in Europe - and a very successful start to the season in England and Ireland.

In one of the biggest sailing events in Norway recently, the two-man 300 mile Watsky 2- Star Race, Elan 37’s came first, third, fifth, and seventh in their division, while the Elan 40 took second place in her division.

At this year’s race, there were 130 boats racing 300 nautical miles over three days, on three–legs with a three-hour pit-stop between each leg. The first and second legs of the race were won overall by Elan 37’s and the third leg was won overall by the Elan 40.

This popular race was followed by approximately 30,000 people on the internet, which peaked with 27,000 hits per minute.

Also on display and smallest in the range, the Elan 31 is hard to beat as a fast club racer or family cruiser. This model’s appealing, roomy and comfortable interior would certainly notch up any competitive yachtie’s chances of coming home with this smart little club racer for around the cans.

Early this year, one of the most famous sailing schools in Europe, Les Glènans, chose seven new Elan 31's to add to their distinguished fleet for sail training levels 1, 2 and 3.

It was this model’s strong identity, elegant aesthetics, comfort and performance that convinced them, along with the fact that each detail of the boat is of quality and very well thought out.

Elan’s outstanding range of Performance Cruisers and the new Impression cruising range are designed by notable yacht designer, Rob Humphreys.

Navsail realises that buying a boat is a major purchase. Representatives will be available at the Boat Show to provide honest, accurate and technical information, enabling prospective buyers to make an informed decision.
