Discover More !! We'd like you to think seriously about participating in Sunferries Magnetic Island Race Week 2009 in North Queensland, Australia's favourite sailing destination. World Heritage listed Magnetic Island, Townsville, is offering a new regatta in a beautiful tropical location – a fresh adventure on the Australasian offshore scene. Register now to get the 2008 event DVD.

This is a growing event on the national sailing calendar and Sunferries Magnetic Island Race Week 2009 will offer first class racing on the clear blue waters of Cleveland Bay and Magnetic Island from the 4th - 8th September 2009 .

The event will offer six classes of racing over four days and will be hosted and run under the auspices of the Townsville Cruising Yacht Club. Leading Race Administrator, Denis Thompson from Sydney, has again been engaged as the Principal Race Officer.

The 2008 event was again very successful and with our Foundation Sponsors believing the event will rapidly grow to become one of the blue ribbon regattas on the national sailing calendar along with being a signature event for Townsville and Magnetic Island.

The event, through partnering with Tourism Queensland, Townsville Enterprise and Townsville City Council, has produced a 20 minute magazine style television programme, highlighting the 2008 event and the destination.

If you are interested in bring your boat to the event in 2009, we'd like you to register to receive the 2008 Sunferries Magnetic Island Race Week DVD. This DVD will give you a taste of the great time you can have racing and partying but also have a fantastic time exploring and experiencing the very scenic and almost untouched Magnetic Island.
