Fendi Racing will make its championship debut at the BMW Norwegian Grand Prix in Arendal (15-17 July) running an Outerlimits boat-engine package.

Fendi Racing was back out on the water this week putting their new Outerlimits raceboat through her paces during a rigorous test session in open waters near Jesolo. 'We ran more than ten full circuits and pushed a lot harder this time and the boat responded well,' said throttleman, Giovanni Carpitella. 'Compared to the conditions we will race in this year and on today’s performance I think this boat is going to be something special.'

Team owner Luca Fendi Formilli Fendi was on hand to get his first outing in his new charge. 'I was very emotional when I saw the boat, even more so after going out to test,' he said. 'The last time I saw it, it was just a mass of grey material in a workshop in America and to see it now is incredible. The team has done an amazing job. Now the project I started to talk about over a year ago has really come together.'

Fendi Racing’s team manager and crew chief Marco Bonomo was equally pleased with the outcome of the session. 'We have worked long and hard on the boat and I must say that the overall results from the tests, and different set-ups that we carried out, and under these conditions is very encouraging.

'I tend to always be very conservative, but I have to admit to being satisfied. In over two hours of testing we did not record any problems, when usually there is always something to fix and revise'.
