Chaparral urges all boaties to get in to Variety 'Splash' 2012

by Dani Limback on 8 Oct 2011
Variety Splash unites boating and a great day out on the Bay with a great cause for kids! Variety Splash www.varietysplash.org.au
Chaparral Australia and Aussie Boat Sales have put out the call for the 2012 Variety 'Splash', aiming to raise more than $6,000 for Variety Children's Charity Victoria.

Every year since 2008, Chaparral Australia and Aussie Boat Sales have supported & been involved in the organisation of the Variety ‘Splash’.

Held Thursday 23rd to Sunday 26th February 2012, the fundraising event is along the lines of the Variety ‘Bash’ but of course, we play on the water generally in Chaparrals. This event is a 3 day journey of fun travelling around Port Phillip Bay, Victoria, participating in various challenging activities and enjoying the fellowship of other boaties.

It is unique in that it is the only event on the calendar that brings together both Yachts & Power boats. So far, over this time we have raised approximately $450,000 to support Variety children’s charity and importantly seen a large portion of these funds go towards disadvantaged children experiencing time on the water either as part of this event or directly with facilities & programs being developed to introduce these children to boating.

There are thousands of stories that we could share with you that would convince you that this is truly a worthy cause, but please go on line to the web site below and take the time to have a read of some the experiences shared.

What we are asking for is that you consider joining us in supporting this cause by following this link http://www.gofundraise.com.au/page/splash_chaparralaustralia and making a donation.

All donations to this site are electronically wired to Variety, the children’s charity Victoria and you will automatically receive a receipt immediately.

Please help us make a difference by making a small donation, every little bit helps. Of course, anyone who feels the need to get further involved in fundraising for this event on a larger scale via sponsorships, fundraising events or donations of goods or services for auctions or raffles please contact us to discuss how you can be involved.

We would also like to invite you participate in the 'Splash' itself, either by entering your boat (it doesn’t have to be a Chaparral) or joining us on one of our boats for 1 day or the 3 days of the event. We guarantee it is the best fun you can have while making a real difference.

In and of itself it is hardly the freshest news, and well and truly yesterday’s fish wrapper. It was also a wise choice on behalf of Team USA, for he has succeeded in both the physical and commercial arms of our sport.
