The Capital Insurance Brokers ACT Dinghy Championships 24th & 25th November entries are now open. The Canberra Yacht Club is gearing up for a huge fleet of over 100 dinghies to take part in the Capital Insurance Brokers ACT Dinghy Championships. Sponsored by 1976 470 bronze medallist Ian Ruff, the regatta will incorporate a number of different classes using two courses on Lake Burley Griffin.

This regatta will also be the ACT State Titles for the Flying Dutchman, Tasar, NS14 and Optimist classes. The Optimist class will provide guru coach Rob Brewer on the water for the weekend providing a great training weekend for that class, Optis are expected from Victoria and New South Wales.

In the FD class, ex-world champion Fred McCrossin will be up again local sailor Ian Ruff and world ranked sailors such as Norm Rydge and Michael Chapman. Also ex world Champion Rob and Nicole Douglass will be out to defend their ACT Tasar Title against a quality 30 boat fleet.

There will be a dinner for all participants on the Saturday night and Canberra has a extensive list of things to do for those not taking part in the sailing.

As it is election day polling booths are located close by.
