Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has issued an exclusive use aquatic licence for the safe staging of power boat races on the Clarence River at Grafton on Saturday and Sunday.
RMS Maritime Principal Manager North Sonia McKay said boaters should keep clear of the Clarence River next to Memorial Park in Prince Street from 8am-5pm on both days.
'This area will be used exclusively for the safe staging of a power boat race event organised by Australian Formula Power Boat Grand Prix,' Ms McKay said.
'The area will be marked by buoys and monitored by control vessels.
'For safety reasons, skippers should avoid this area as it will be closed for the event,' Ms McKay said.
Ms McKay said vessels would not be permitted to enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.
