For the first time in Canadian Waters, the Beneteau First 36.7 North American Championship will be hosted at the National Yacht Club in Toronto, Sept. 7-11, 2011.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the event and Barbados’ first year as the title sponsor. Barbados’ motto, 'long live life,' is sure to emanate its Caribbean spirit throughout the event.
The excitement will also spill onto land with a Canada vs. US ball hockey tournament. On Sept. 8, 2011, at the National Yacht Club, crews will battle on land for ball hockey domination. The Stanley Cup may have slipped through the fingers of Canucks, but there is hope for Canadians as they take on their American counterparts! Tickets for Spectator boats for the public may be purchased on the Beneteau North American Championship website for $20 per day. Children under 15 may enter for free.
September brings warm winds to this side of the lake – prime weather for a five day sailing competition. Thirty-five boats have been registered from across North America guaranteeing this event will make a splash in the global sailing community!
