Australian International 14 Championships – Devine scores back-to-back

The Australian International 14 Championships has so far seen the sailing superiority of Aussie champion Brad Devine and Ian Furlong, who swept the first two heats on Waterloo Bay.

The moderate to fresh South Easterly sea breeze and challenging chop was no match for the experience and boat speed of the men from the west.

Leaving nothing to chance both Devine and Furlong came out of the blocks to lead the race by the first windward rounding and finish a clear winner.

Race two wasn’t so one sided, the boys from CST pushed Devine and Furlong up the first windward, but couldn’t find their way past the Western Australians coming into the last downwind run.

' We had a very good day' said Devine looking forward to the coming races. The next heat continues on the second of January with varying conditions expected.
