Oriella Drovandi - New Director, Womens Development for the Elliott 7s SW
The Australian Elliott 7 Class Association announce that Oriella Drovandi has been appointed Director, Women’s Development for the Elliott 7 Class to replace Simone Deane, who has been relocated to supervise a large construction project in northern NSW.
Oriella has had a long career in marketing. She has sailed Elliott 7s and offshore with the CYCA for over a decade. Her dominant impression of sailing is the crews. On every boat she has sailed she has been privileged to be part of varied and brilliant crews who were a lot of fun. On some boats she was the only woman and others she was part of a more even mix.
Oriella is passionate about bringing more and more women into sailing – to share the experiences she’s had and to be a part of the many amazing crews in the Elliott 7 Class, which is particularly supportive of women.
She will work closely with the Australian Sports commission and Yachting
