Anyone planning to compete in Auckland Anniversary Regatta should get their entry in as soon as possible.
Approximately 500 boats are expected on Monday 28 January, and although late entries are accepted, organiser Joyce Talbot asks that entries are submitted before the late entry date (21 or 24 January depending on the event entered) wherever possible.
There are 16 events all up, including:
Waka ama racing
Dragon boat racing
Keeler racing (including tall ships and waka)
Harbour challenge - for the fastest boats on the water
Radio controlled sailing at Westhaven and Wattle Farm
Centreboard racing at six clubs including two Auckland Championship events
Classic yacht racing
Full details of racing, including entry forms and sailing instructions, can be found at www.regatta.org.nz.
Organisations supporting the event are the Royal New Zealand Navy, Classic Hits 97.4FM, the Spirit of Adventure Trust, The Southern Trust, The Lion Foundation, and Ports of Auckland Ltd.
