The initial commissioning for Oracle Team USA's AC 72 and the testing process was started with the boat displaying an early demonstration of its performance potential.
After two hours, the session was stopped due to a daggerboard failure in the starboard hull.
Boat and crew returned safely to the team’s Pier 80 base.
The team says it is now assessing its options to resume testing as soon as possible.
