America's Cup Day 5 Race 8 - A sensation. Oracle Team USA had to win and they did. A rattled Kiwi team went within a few metres of capsizing their boat. Oracle Team USA took the gun and with the crowd going crazy, Emirates Team New Zealand was 52 seconds late for the party.

Before the start of Race 8 the on water score was Emirates Team New Zealand 6 Oracle Team USA 1

Oracle Team New Zealand has to win just three more races to win the 34th America's Cup.

The American Team made a lot of small changes on their boat.

The breeze is up and the tide is ebbing out of San Francisco Bay. With an incoming wind of 22-24 knots its a classical wind against tide scenario.

Both boats have very small jibs, Emirates Team New Zealand into the box. Oracle Team USA attempted the hook, but it did not work. A big win to Emirates first at the mark, by a length. A poor gybe by USA and as they head down the course they were 100 metres behind.

The Kiwis covering every gybe making small gains.

Oracle splits right eight seconds behind as they head up wind.

The first cross closer, the American boat had closed up a little.

On the second cross as they bounced towards the shore, the stronger pressure was helping them.

For the first time in the series, the USA have made gains on the third leg.

Then a sensation, with the boats close together the Kiwis went incredibly close to capsizing and were penalised. A very rattled crew.

At the top mark, Oracle with a lead of almost 200 mentres with a delta of 28 seconds.

Oracle Team USA down the run were 700 metres ahead, as they speed down the run.

Oracle Team USA at the fourth mark, ahead by 48 seconds. The crowd was going crazy.

The Kiwi arrived 52 seconds late for the party.
