Two of the biggest projects to come out of the Auckland loft in 2010, won three major awards at the prestigious World Superyacht Awards, announced this month. Now North Sails has two even larger projects underway for 2011-2012.
North Sails scooped the awards when the 49.7m sloop Zefira, built by Fitzroy Yachts, won Sailing Yacht of the Year, and the award for yachts of more than 44m. Imagine, from Alloy Yachts, took the Under 44m award.
North Sails congratulates Alloy Yachts, Fitzroy Yachts, and Southern Spars, and Dubois Naval Architects for their roles in this phenomenal success.
Next up, coming from the global lofts, is a mainsail thought to be the world’s biggest, destined for the Dubois 66m sloop code named 'DNA 66'. North Sails is producing a Carbon Aramid 3DL & Cuben Fiber full inventory for this, and a 3Di mainsail for Panamax, the Baltic 215 ketch.
