AWT Maui Makani Classic - Competition now on

by Aivette Veronica Polotan on 26 Oct 2012
2012 AWT Maui Classic Runs from 26 October - 03 November 2012 Kevin Pritchard / AWT http://www.americanwindsurfingtour.com/
Something really sensational is happening at the North Shore of Maui from today. Yes, the finals of the 2012 American Windsurfing Tour (AWT) wave series runs from today through the 3rd November 2012 with 100 competitors from 23 nations whose already famous names now defend their reputation and unknown sailors start the quest for fame!

With a contest window that runs through November 3rd, competitors have an excellent chance for the conditions that make Maui famous. With many of the world's top wave sailors calling Maui home, there is no doubt that the riders will be a talented group who are at home on the famous break at Hookipa. If you are in another part of the globe and sadly nowhere in Maui to watch this awesome event unfold - you will be able to follow the heats live on-line and see interviews with the pros!

However, it’s not too late to support the American Windsurfing Tour (AWT) as a donor or sponsor. Having a wave sailing tour in the US again has been awesome for the pro riders and the local wave sailors who get to see how they measure up to the pros. Making these events happen takes a huge amount of logistical work and money for permits, insurance and more. To donate dollars, goods or services to the American Windsurfing Tour contact Sam Bittner through the AWT website.
