2013 marks the 36th edition of the Festival de la Plaisance de Cannes – the International Cannes Boat Show. The event will take place between 10th and 15th September on the glittering Bay of Cannes, famed for glitz, glamour and international premieres.

Arguably the most prestigious event on the yachting calendar, the Festival de la Plaisance de Cannes is Europe’s leading in-water boat show and the first international show on the boat show calendar. Spread over the Vieux Port and the Port Pierre Canto, the show will offer close to 500 boats on display, built by the leading luxury shipyards. Le Vieux Port will showcase inspiring new models and products over the six day event, with a mix of motor boats and sailing boats ranging from 10 to 50 metres on the water, and parts manufacturers and service companies positioned on the land and in the Palais du Festival.

The Festival de la Plaisance de Cannes is well-known to be an international rendez-vous of worldwide premieres. This year will be no exception, with the show hosting more than 100 new model launches of all sizes which will be presented to boat enthusiasts, amongst them Absolute 64 Fly, AmerCento, Aureus Xv Absolute, Baglietto 44 Fast, Cerri 102, Couach’s 2600 Fly, Cranchi Trawler 5o Long, CNB 76, Delher 38, the Ferretti F960, Fountain Pajot’s CUMBERLAND 47 LC, Mangusta 94, MCY 86, Princess 98 MY, Wauquiez – Centurion 57.

As part of her new position, Sylvie’s responsibilities include the operational management of the 2013 Cannes Boat Show, along with development of a medium and long term strategy for the Festival. She will report to Alain Pichavant, Director of the Sea and Leisure Division at Reed Expositions.

LE VIEUX PORT
New Equipment Village
This year, yachting equipment providers will be grouped into a new ‘Equipment Village’, located in the heart of the Pantiero and the show itself. The village will give these key providers to the nautical industry a more prominent place within the Festival and its inaugural year will include close to 50 exhibitors.

Albert Edouard North & South Jetties - SuperYacht Area
The largest international projects in the luxury yachting industry – boats ranging from 15 to 45 metres are displayed in this dedicated area.

Pantiero, Quai Saint-Pierre, Quai Max Laubeuf - Boats from 10 to 25 metres
A range of in-water boats ranging from 10 to 25 metres will be on display in these areas including traditional yachts, sail boats, motorboats, open boats, sport fishing and fly drive crafts.

Multihull area
The Show organisers are taking advantage of the new pontoon in The Pantiero and multihulls areas to add a flexible floating pontoon which, when open will allow yachts out of the port for on-sea trials. When closed, visitors will now be able to cross between the quays, creating a second access point to the multihulls area and thus improving the flow of people and their overall experience. Over 40 multihull yachts will be exhibited in this area.

Tender area
A long-term feature of the Cannes Boat Show, 2013 sees the expansion of the Tender Area to reflect owners’ and buyers’ increasing interest in the design and performance of this equipment. The on-land tender area will occupy the section along the beach, from the roundabout of the Albert Edward South and North piers to the main entrance of the show. Tenders will also be present to connect the two main piers of the port for demonstrations.

PORT PIERRE CANTO - Espace Brokerage & Charter
The world's most important brokers – including Ardell Yacht & Ship brokers, Blue Water - Camper & Nicholsons International - Dbeere Yachts - Dubois Yachts Ltd - International Yacht Register - MSC Yachting - Ocean Independence - Oceanstyle by Burgess - Rodriguez Group – will gather at the 'Espace Brokerage & Charter' located in the Port Pierre Canto. As well as more than 40 used boats ranging from 23 to 47 metres, companies offering brokerage, charter, parts manufacturers, refitting yards, luxury tenders and services will also be present.

ESPACE RIVIERA
Espace Riviera will house yards, services and equipment for increasingly sophisticated boats, including interior installations; luxury yacht builders; equipment and technologies; service companies: financing and insurances; luxury yacht tenders, and tourism and marinas.

VIP Areas
Both the VIP Club and restaurant will this year be relocated to the first floor of the Espace Riviera, offering guests panoramic views of the Cannes Boat Show.
