BACARDI Newport Sailing Week is not only renowned for the competition, but also for BACARDI’s legendary hospitality and in-town activities. Similar to year’s past, the BACARDI hospitality will be set up at Long Wharf Marina, where sailors will enjoy BACARDI Rum, food and music. A special art exhibit, Sailing Dreams by Vicki DaSilva, will be set up in Bowen’s Wharf and open everyday until July 5th. DaSilva will exhibit 10 light paintings (made by moving a hand-held light source while taking a long exposure photograph) that present to the community how she interprets the beautiful sport of sailing into art.
BACARDI will also sponsor cocktail events at selected establishments such as Cory Silken Gallery, Onne van der Wal Gallery, Sheldon Fine Art, Egg and Dart, Bowen’s Wharf and Chocolate in addition to seven Bar events that will take place during the Week. On June 24th BACARDI and Torresella Wines will sponsor the NYYC Transatlantic Party at Newport Shipyard.
