Audi Melges 20 U.S. National Championship 2014 - Brazilian dance party
Cesar Gomes Neto, Andre Forseca and John Bowden of team Portobello wasted no time in putting a stamp on U.S. Nationals.
After an overcast, light and tough Day Two, the skies cleared allowing for a sunny, 10-15 knots of breeze from the Northeast for the final two races of the 2014 Audi Melges 20 U.S. National Championship hosted by Sail Newport. The team on Portobello consisting of owner-helm Cesar Gomes Neto, tactician Andre Forseca and John Bowden wasted no time in putting a stamp on this event.

Audi Melges 20 U.S. National Championship - Tricky conditions on day 2
In the first race of the day, four boats were called OCS including Drew Wierda's W and Jason Michas' Midnight Blue.
2014 Audi Melges 20 U.S. National Championship - While the majority of the fleet struggled with tricky, variable conditions on the inside race course in Newport Harbor, Cesar Gomez Neto on Portobello from Brazil had no trouble posting three second place finishes to take the overall lead after six races.

Audi Melges 20 U.S. Nationals - Oleander takes early lead
The deep Melges 20 fleet headed North of the Newport Harbor Bridge to kick off the sixth edition of the U.S. Nationals.
With a brief on-shore postponement by PRO Bill Canfield and his legion of volunteers from Sail Newport, the deep Audi Melges 20 fleet headed North of the Newport Harbor Bridge to kick off the sixth edition of the U.S. Nationals. With past champions, fleet veterans, and several talented newcomers in attendance, what the fleet lacked in size was quickly made up through talent and tight racing.
