The 2012 Mitre 10 MEGA NZ Paper Tiger National Championships began today with a quiet beginning to registration and measuring, allowing everyone to recover from the festivities of the New Year's Eve Party hosted by the New Plymouth Yacht Club.

This afternoon however saw all competitors attempt to get back into race mode with the Tiger Automation Limited Invitation Race programmed to start at 1430hrs.
The race would have been a good final hit out for the 50 strong fleet before competitive racing kicks off tomorrow (Monday 2 Jan).
