2008/9 Flying Dutchman New Zealand National Championships (Pre-Worlds)

The final day of sailing in the 2008 Flying Dutchman New Zealand National Championships (Pre-Worlds) saw one race in a moderate north westerly breeze and one in a mixed south easterly.

Celebrating line honours victory were Dutch sailors Frank Nooijen and Marc van der Pol over Spanish sailors Francisco Martinez and Vincente Guijarro by 1 point. In third place and first New Zealand sailors was Paul Scoffin and Pavel Ruzicka.

Christine Heady and Gun Caundle both NZL won on handicap and also first lady helm. The winner of the wooden boat trophy went to John Bailey and Jeroen Browstring (NZL)

The focus now shifts to measurement and registration for the 2008 Flying Dutchman World Championships with racing to commence on the 6th January.
