Whitehaven Beach BBQ Party - Seawind Whitsunday Rally Brent Vaughan
The fourth annual Seawind Whitsunday Rally is about to sail into Airlie Beach with a record sized flotilla of 20 Seawind catamarans preparing for a week of social racing, parties and onshore activities around the Whitsunday islands starting this Saturday the 19th of June.

The fleet of luxury cruising catamarans, all built in Wollongong Australia, are coming from far and wide with boats sailing from as far south as Sydney and Brisbane for the famous cruising event that rivals the largest regattas of its kind elsewhere in the world. Approximately 85 crew members are expected to also join the fun filled week flying in from all around Australia including Perth and Melbourne plus international guests from as far as Singapore.

The rally will have the fleet race from island to island with a party or event at each of the seven destinations, including Abel Point, Long Island, Lindeman Island, Hamilton Island, Whitehaven Beach, Butterfly Bay and finishing again at Hamilton Island. Points are gained for not only the racing results, but also the extracurricular onshore activities including such challenges as 'Island Karaoke' and 'Blind Man's Dinghy Race' just to name a few.

The rally is just one of eight events as part of a year long 'Seawind Cruising Club Series' including regattas and cruising safaris around Australia (including Sydney, Jervis Bay, Moreton Bay, Mandurah WA) and the Americas (including Catalina Island - California, Mexico & the Bahamas) with approximately 100 Seawind catamarans and 500 crew members participating throughout the year.

Seawind also encourage non-boat owners to participate by chartering a Seawind catamaran for the events through the company's own charter booking agency, Seawind Sailing Holidays, with special packages available for the Cruising Club Series!
