Strong Winds force organisers to abandon Heat 6 of the 18ft Skiff JJ Giltinan International 2013 Frank Quealey /Australian 18 Footers League

The 18ft Skiff JJ Giltinan International 2013 had to abandon Heat 6 due to gusty winds on Sydney Harbour. The East Coast low moving along the NSW Coast put paid to Gary Linacre's patience yesterday.
The skiffs were rigged for a scheduled 1600 hrs. start and were held ashore under the AP flag flying on the Double Bay SC mast.
With Gary Linacre and his staff out on course monitoring the wind pressure, hoping for a sign of the expected easing in strength, he finally had no other choice and decided to postpone the race around 1700 hrs.
Later, the Sailing Committee eventually decided that Heat 6 would be abandoned all together and that Heat 7, scheduled for 1500 hrs on Sunday, would decide the Championship and with the wind expected to ease and back around to the
