1.2 million newsletters for Rolex Sydney Hobart

by Sail-World.com on 11 Sep 2008
Rosebud blasts to the finish - Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race Crosbie Lorimer http://www.crosbielorimer.com
The 2008 Rolex Sydney to Hobart race is little more than three months away.

The Sail-World.com website will be providing more intensive coverage than ever before with 1.2 million (1,200,000) dedicated online newsletters going to its audience world-wide. Our first Sail-World Rolex Sydney to Hobart newsletter will be dispatched on November 1st. 2008

Sail-World will have at four journalists and photographers, following the race build up from Sydney and as it unfolds in Eden and Hobart in 2008. This means its coverage will be amongst the most intense by any sailing media group world-wide, just as it was in Qingdao for the Olympic where Sail-World had the largest media team.

Sail-World will be publishing 20 Sail-World Rolex Sydney to Hobart newsletters, including daily newsletters for the last days of the build up and during the race itself.

These will be in the style of its very successful Sail-World Olympic and America's Cup newsletters, which achieved tremendous support world-wide.

Rob Kothe, the founder of the TetraMedia group, which publishes Sail-World.com Powerboat-World.com and MarineBusinessNews.com commented today, ‘This race has massive consumer and sailor interest.

'The Sail-World team have intimate knowledge of the race. We will be covering the race from an International perspective for our US, UK, European, Asian-Middle East, New Zealand and Australian audiences in great detail, as these are the key areas of our world wide circulation – across our Sail-World sites.

'Because it takes just a single click for our regular sailing readers news to stop receiving our news, our audience is one that is seriously interested in our coverage.'

Around the world more than 220 Yachting Organisations run our news feeds, bringing readers to our sites. Across December our total visitor numbers are likely to exceed 200,000 readers.

Sailing is not well covered in the mainstream media and sailors do not want to read sailing magazines in February or March to find out how the race unfolded in late December their sailors, so the Internet is the key sailing news source. The Sail-World coverage will be richer than ever this year, with technology delivering many attractive areas of coverage expansion.

Because Sail-World is free to readers and has no printing and distribution costs, our cost per 1000 readers is a fraction of print media costs. Sail-World.com's reach per dollar is unmatched in the Sailing media.

Our stand-alone Rolex Sydney to Hobart newsletter packages start at AUD$2,000 and can also be included in part of overall annual packages for our UK, USA, Europe-Africa, Asia, New Zealand and Australian sites.

Companies who wish to gain international or regional exposure through the Sail-World Rolex Sydney to Hobart newsletters should email media@tetra-media.com now.
