The Bakewell-White supermaxi RIO100 heads off on the 2015 TransPac course under rather gloomy skies. A lurking hurricane means there are unlikely to be any records set, but the RIO crew have their eyes set on the mighty Barn Door Trophy.
RIO100 is a refurbished supermaxi from Bakewell-White Yacht Design and re-built by the renowned Cookson Boats yard in Auckland. She was formerly Zana, Konica Minolta and Lahana
She is manually powered only, and is the leading contender for the Barn Door Trophy awarded to the first to finish, of the manually moded competitors.
Currently RIO100 is the most westward of the fleet and is leading all boats in her division.
