Skandia Cowes Week - Results day 4

Brian Thompson and team including Mike Sanderson aboard Pindar have won the Artemis Challenge here at Skandia Cowes Week Tuesday. They crossed the line at 14.30.48, taking 4 hours 13 minutes and 48 seconds to complete the 50-mile course.

According to Brian Thompson, the fastest section of the race was from the Needles to St Katharine's and when the waves settled down they were reaching 20kts of boat speed.

The five nominees for the Liz Earle Ladies Day Trophy at Skandia Cowes Week have been announced today by a panel of judges that includes the double Olympic Gold medallist Shirley Robertson OBE.

The 2008 Liz Earle Ladies Day Trophy nominees are: Louise Morton, Kerry Gruson, Hilary Lister, Katie Miller and Sam Davies.
