RYA announces new partnership with Nipper Skipper

by Emma Slater on 28 Jun 2014
Adding to its existing stable of rewards, benefits and discounts for members, the RYA is delighted to announce a fantastic new partnership with Nipper Skipper, who provide clothing and kit for junior boaters.

RYA members will be able to take advantage of a specially negotiated 15% off Nipper Skipper’s range of clothing and safety kit, with RYA Gold and Instructor members enjoying a special 20% discount across the range.

'As RYA members ourselves and having always looked to the RYA for training, information and advice we are really pleased to able to offer RYA members discounts through our family business', commented Fran Farrar, who founded Nipper Skipper along with her husband Mark.

The online store based in Norfolk offers quality clothing and reliable safety kit for children who sail or go boating. Nipper Skipper aims to provide items that are functional and fashionable, alongside technical safety gear in a one stop shop for children 0-10yrs.

'Our aim is to make time on the water comfortable and safe for the youngest sailors', Fran explained.

'We stock high quality children’s performance wear. Our growing range includes waterproofs from Sweden and Norway, Crewsaver safety gear and Gill kit from the UK, alongside clothing that can be used onshore as well, such as the snuggly organic fleeces from Cornish company Frugi. New for the 2014 season, Nipper Skipper are now also stocking UV SPF50 protection clothing from British company Long Wave Apparel', Fran added.

Like the RYA, safety plays an important role in the ethos of Nipper Skipper which aims to provide reliable and relevant products for little sailors. Nipper Skipper’s mascot, Pip the Penguin offers tips and information on the website to encourage children to act safely around the water, and free Pip stickers go out with every order.

'Nipper Skipper was a great fit with the RYA. Not only do they provide a fantastic range of products especially for young sailors, they offer advice and information teaching youngsters about safety around the water and encourage the next generation to get afloat; in style, obviously!', commented Conor Swift, RYA Membership Development Manager.
