RYA Regional Youth Champion Awards 2015 – Nominations open

by James Ayles on 9 Dec 2015
Nominations open - RYA Regional Youth Champion Awards RYA http://www.rya.org.uk
The RYA Regional Youth Champion Awards are a chance to celebrate the achievements of 2015’s most promising young sailors, windsurfers and powerboaters.

The awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise the outstanding achievement and performance of young people across the range of activities the RYA represents.

RYA Chief Executive Sarah Treseder said: “The RYA Regional Youth Champion Awards celebrate the talents and achievements of the many young sailors, windsurfers and powerboaters who are achieving amazing things across the UK and we are delighted to welcome nominations.”

RYA Sport Development Manager Duncan Truswell added: “To achieve in any of the disciplines within our sport takes commitment, application, self-responsibility and lots of determination. These awards are not only an ideal way to celebrate this hard work and acknowledge the sacrifices and choices made to achieve success.

“Additionally we hope the awards continue to remind volunteers and parents about the great experiences, skills and attributes that participating in our sport offers young people and why their continued effort and support is so worthwhile.”

Winners must have shown success on the racecourse, whether at local, national or international level.

From the nominations received, each of the RYA’s regional committees will select a regional winner.

All winners and their families will be invited to the RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show for the official awards ceremony. The RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show will be held at Alexandra Palace London from 05-06 March 2016.

Nominations will close on 12 January 2016. Nominees must be 18 years of age or younger on 31st December 2015.
