RYA National Match Racing Series 2015 - The RYA is pleased to announce that entries are now open for the RYA Winter National Match Racing Series 2015 and the RYA National Match Racing Series 2015.

The RYA National Match Racing Series consists of seven qualifying rounds, including the RYA Youth, RYA Women’s and BUCS Match Racing Championship events, before the top British crews from each event are invited to go head-to-head at the Series Grand Final at Queen Mary Sailing Club, while the Winter Series will be run as part-competition and part-training at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy.

Now entering its third year and run across three weekends at the Olympic and Paralympic sailing venue, the popular Winter programme is open to Youth, Women’s and University teams with RYA qualified coaches and a full umpire team on hand at all three events.
The weekends will be run using the RYA’s fleet of six Elliott 6m boats. Eight teams will be invited for each weekend where accommodation and food will be arranged at RYA Portland House for all those taking part. Evening training sessions will also take place and will include umpire session, talks from professional sailors as well as contributions from marine industry experts.

Teams can consist of three or four sailors weighing no more than 250kgs in total. All skippers and crew must be aged 18 or over on the first day of the event. If you wish to attend but do not have a full team, please contact the RYA event organisers who will endeavour to make up a full team.

National Match Racing is a sailor’s first step towards elite match racing events such as the America's Cup and ISAF World Match Racing Tour. The three events over the winter period are seen as the perfect opportunity for sailors to refine and develop their match racing skills in preparation for the key events throughout 2015.

The 2015 RYA National Match Racing Championship Grand Final will be contested in the RYA’s fleet of J80s with a maximum of 12 skippers accepted for each of the qualifying events. All events are open to enter, except the Series Grand Final which is invitation only.
