RYA Dinghy Show – Ben Ainslie Racing to be the star attraction

Onboard with BAR - RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show 2015 Susie Nation-Grainger
2015 RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show – Visitors will be given an exclusive insight into the high-tec world of BAR which was conceived in 2011 by four-time Olympic gold Medallist and 34th America’s Cup campaign Sir Ben Ainslie to develop and lead a British Challenger capable of winning the prestigious trophy.

'We are very much looking forward to the RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show and sharing the news and progress on the team's America’s Cup campaign' explains Jo Grindley, Head of Commercial, Marketing, Communications and Events for BAR.

'We’ll have plenty of activities going on during the event with an interactive stand (F12) offering a taster of what will be on offer at the Visitor Centre at our new HQ when it opens in Portsmouth this July. This is also when the America's Cup World Series comes to town so we'll have all the information on that event too'.

On the stand you’ll also find activities for all ages, with an energy and technology display that includes a power grinder and 3D printer, two of the exhibits the team are developing for the BAR visitor centre. If you want to ‘wear your support’ for BAR, the new BAR merchandise range from Henri Lloyd will be available to purchase and you can even personalise each piece with your name.

The America’s Cup World series events team will be on hand to tell you all about the two events and offer advice on the dates to add to the diary as well as the best vantage points to view the racing. They’ll be joined by BAR sailors David ‘Freddie’ Carr (on Saturday) and Nick Hutton (on Sunday) at 15:00 to deliver a specialist talk on the Suzuki mainstage.

RYA Shows Coordinator Charlotte Pearson said: 'We’re delighted that BAR will be exhibiting at the show. As a dinghy sailor Ben has supported and attended the show many times in previous years and we are now thrilled to be able to support the campaign to bring the cup home.

The BAR interactive stand will inspire all sailors who visit the show, from those just getting started to the future America’s Cup contenders'.

Tickets for the RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show cost just £11.50 in advance (£9.50 for RYA Members) with children under 16 free all weekend. You can buy tickets on the website or by calling the ticket hotline on 0844 858 9069*.
