RS100s global growth

The RS100 class remains at an increasing pace in its presence worldwide for 2011. Now the class has over sixty brand new boats dispatched already in 2011 to 15 different countries.
RS100's highest numbers have been delivered to Germany, the USA, Switzerland and the UK. The class is building growing international presence, and can also now be spotted in Canada and Thailand – really beginning to spread across the world!
Building on the strength of its launch last year, the RS100 racing scene is also gaining momentum with each event in 2011.
The RS100 Euro Grand Prix began in May in Holland with 20 boats racing, the next one comes up in early July on Lake Como, Italy, followed by Weymouth in August and it finishes off with an event in L’Estartit, Spain in September (with three out of four events to count). There are rumours of South African and Australian RS100 sailors making the trip for these events!
The Euro Grand Prix circuit is likely to capture the attention of anyone who is not already familiar with the 2011 Sailing World Boat of the Year and enhance its reputation for exceptionally close racing.
A few charter boats are available for the events in Italy and Spain at a cost of €250 – first come first served if you want to grab the opportunity and take part.
Meanwhile on the UK Circuit, the next events are at Highcliffe this weekend, where 20+ boats are expected to compete, followed by Parkstone, building up to the National Championships in August at the Weymouth Olympic venue. The exciting RS100 class, launched just last year, is developing
