Last Feva SW coaching weekend - Feva SW winter training - Torbay Alex Mothersele / Feva SW Winter Training
This weekend 14 sailors took to the sea in Torbay for the last RS Feva SW Open training. After three heavy wind weekends it was a relief to have a perfect 14 knots each day! Except for a few feelings of sea sickness due to the huge waves rolling in, the sailors where in high spirits after the first day of tactics and mark rounding training.
Sunday began with fast paced team racing with three boats on each team. Some very close, aggressive racing was demonstrated by both teams. This really displayed how much their confidence has grown over the winter.
As the head coach, I have seen a massive improvement in all sailors that have attended the SW open training series at Torbay, Bristol Corinthian and Chew this winter. From the top sailors who are also in other squads as well as this, to the less experienced sailors who needed the confidence to get out there in the cold windy winter, I hope that all have enjoyed the sessions and would like to thank everyone who attended and look forward to seeing you all racing in the summer!
