London 2012 is fast approaching and the Swiss Olympic has now published the list of sailors who will defend Switzerland's colours at the Olympic regattas in Weymouth and Portland, Great Britain.

Flavio Marazzi and Enrico De Maria (Star), Nathalie Brugger (Laser Radial), Richard Stauffacher (Windsurf RS :X) and Yannick Brauchli and Romuald Hausser (470) will all represent their nation at the London 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition.

'It's an excellent team, with experienced athletes, coaches and staff, that will travel to Weymouth with precise objectives,' commented Tom Reulein, the head of the Swiss delegation. 'On top of this, the young 470 team Brauchli and Hausser has recently proved that they are ripe for the Olympic Games. I am convinced that our athletes can get their best personal result during those Olympic regattas. And if all goes well, then everything is possible.'

Fourth in Athens 2004 and fifth in Beijing 2008, Flavio Marazzi and Enrico De Maria finished sixth in the recent Star Worlds and on level bar with the world's best. Also on great form, Richard Stauffacher finished sixth in the recent World Cup in Hyères. He will compete in his third Olympic Games in London and has often proved that he can excel during the most important events.

Nathalie Brugger also has this potential. Sixth in the Olympic Games in Beijing, she is currently improving her level and hopes to reach her top level during the Olympic Regatta.

The young 470 team Brauchli and Hausser will discover the Olympic Games environment in Weymouth. 20th at the last World Cup event in Hyères, they will gather as much experience as possible during the Olympic Games.

'The Swiss Olympic Team London 2012 is a high quality team, with a great potential for performance,' commented Vincent Hagin, the President of Swiss Sailing.

'Four years after the Olympic Games of Qingdao, we have selected athletes of great quality, who have the true potential to fulfill our dream of an Olympic medal. During the six months qualification process, some younger athletes have also excelled, especially the young and promising 470 team. I wish Swiss Sailing Team London 2012 the very London 2012 website
