The Lipton Cup Regatta got underway today on Port Phillip Bay, in Victoria. Though all scheduled races were completed, the breeze stayed away, but it is promised for more tomorrow's passage race. Victorian Sailing Teri Dodds was on the water today, and shares these images.

The next event will be at the end of June: the Audi Settimana delle Bocche organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda. The first race started at 12.30 and Azzurra got a good start right on the Committee boat. The ups and downs of first beat put Azzurra at the middle of a fleet led by Alegre.

New York-Vendée race starts tomorrow
Tomorrow afternoon New York City will be the backdrop to one of the newest ocean races on the calendar. The New York-Vendée race is essentially a feeder race for the Vendée Globe which starts in five months from France. It will provide an opportunity for the skippers to complete their qualifying voyage in order to take part in the Vendée Globe. The turnout for this inaugural event is very good with 14 IMOCA 60s lining up for the start.
