ISAF MNAs encouraged to apply for IOC Olympic Solidarity funding

by ISAF on 24 Apr 2014
SW
ISAF Member National Authorities (MNAs) are encouraged to apply for IOC Olympic Solidarity funding ahead of the approaching deadline.

Applications for 'Rio 2016' funding have been open since March and MNAs are required to complete their proposals to National Olympic Committees (NOCs) before the end of June 2014 when the application process will close.

The successful Athletes will receive funding towards their Olympic Training Programs for two years, right up until the last possible qualification event.

MNAs who have Performance Sailing Training providers that have been listed by ISAF as an Approved Training Centre will be able to refer to this list in the process when applying for IOC Olympic Solidarity Athlete Scholarships for the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Sailing Competitions.

For further information on how to become an ISAF Approved Training Centre click here.

IOC Olympic Solidarity funding opportunities are available through a number of programmes. MNAs must request applications for all programme areas through their NOCs. The two sections and the appropriate programmes that are relevant to MNAs are:

World Programmes - Athletes section: Further details available here:

• Programme number two. Olympic Games Scholarships for Athletes - 'Rio 2016'
• Programme number four. Continental Athlete Support Grants (Continental / Regional Games)
• Programme number five. Youth Olympic Games - Athlete support

World Programmes - Coaches section: Further details available here:

• Programme number six. Technical Courses for Coaches (TCCs). Level 1, 2 and 3.
• Programme number seven. Sports Specific Olympic Scholarship for Coaches (ISAF Training Scholarship)
• Programme number eight. Development of National Sports Structure (DNSS)

Applications for all programme areas must be made through relevant NOCs. ISAF MNAs must first decide which 'section' and 'programme/s' they wish to apply for and request the relevant application from their NOC. A more detailed overview of these sections and programmes above is available here.

The support from ISAF in helping to complete the various forms has proved beneficial to all those MNAs who have so far benefitted from Olympic Solidarity Funded programmes.
