Abersoch delivers again. Great venue, wind and company made for a most enjoyable week’s sailing. Abersoch delivers again. Great venue, wind and company made for a most enjoyable week’s sailing. Three RS300s formed part of a 22 strong mixed single handed fleet including a wide range of boats from Musto Skiffs to Byte C11s.

The EUROSAFs, which take place annually, see Europe’s top Youth sailors come together to battle for European honours. The EUROSAFs, which take place annually, see Europe’s top Youth sailors come together to battle for European honours. The team were represented by two boats in each class, with sailors having been selected from the 2016 RYA Youth National Championships in April.

K6 Class Annual Regatta at Aldeburgh Yacht Club
Seven K6s enjoyed a week long series of five races at Aldeburgh in great conditions as part of the Club’s annual regatta This week was the first opportunity for new class member John Hallas to join the established Aldeburgh fleet (now the largest coastal centre for K6’s in the country) and he and son Rory put in a good showing eventually finishing fifth overall.

Rio 2016 - Epic 470 medal races bring six days of racing to a climax
Racing got underway in a frisky 17-21 knot breeze featuring plenty of leaderboard moves as different teams took the edge Pao de Acucar, the medal race course, positioned close to Flamengo Beach and the 396-metre tall Sugarloaf Mountain is surrounded by a landscape which plays tricks on the wind. No lead is safe, no amount of leverage without risk. The unpredictability of the race track was evident in both 470 Women and Men races, with rollercoaster position changes for some.
